Overview of All-Aluminum Radiator Technology

An All-Aluminum Radiator is a heat exchange solution manufactured entirely from aluminum alloy materials, including the core, fins, and structural components. Compared with traditional copper-brass or mixed-material radiators, this structure reduces overall weight while maintaining stable thermal conductivity and mechanical strength. In generator cooling systems, aluminum alloy radiators are widely adopted where compact layout, corrosion resistance, and thermal efficiency are required at the same time.

By using optimized tube-and-fin or plate-and-fin designs, all-aluminum radiators support efficient heat dissipation across a broad cooling capacity range, from small standby generator sets to large industrial or marine power systems. The material characteristics of aluminum also allow flexible customization of core dimensions to match different installation environments.

Structural Design and Core Configuration

The internal structure of an all-aluminum radiator plays a decisive role in cooling performance and pressure stability. Core design is typically selected based on airflow conditions, coolant flow rate, and operating load of the generator system.

  • Tube-and-fin structure: suitable for applications requiring balanced airflow resistance and heat transfer efficiency, commonly used in mobile and industrial generator sets.
  • Plate-and-fin structure: designed for higher heat density and compact layouts, often applied in high-performance or space-limited installations.

All core components are manufactured from aluminum alloy to maintain consistent thermal expansion behavior and reduce the risk of leakage caused by material mismatch under pressure or temperature variation.

Cooling Capacity and Operating Parameters

All-aluminum radiators are engineered to operate across a wide range of thermal loads and environmental conditions. Cooling capacity can be configured from 20 kW up to 2500 kW, allowing integration with different generator power ratings.

Core Material 100% Aluminum Alloy
Cooling Capacity 20 kW – 2500 kW
Operating Temperature -25°C to +55°C
Pressure Rating 2.5 – 3.0 bar

These parameters allow the radiator to maintain stable coolant circulation and thermal balance under continuous or variable load operation, including harsh outdoor or marine environments.

Corrosion Resistance and Surface Treatment

Aluminum alloy naturally forms a protective oxide layer, providing inherent resistance to corrosion. For extended service life in demanding environments, additional surface treatments are applied during manufacturing.

  • Anodized finish: enhances corrosion resistance and improves surface hardness for marine or coastal applications.
  • Painted coating: provides environmental protection and allows color matching for OEM generator systems.

These treatments help maintain stable heat transfer performance while reducing maintenance requirements over long operating cycles.

Installation Flexibility and Application Scenarios

All-aluminum radiators support both OEM integration and retrofit replacement. Core dimensions, mounting points, and inlet-outlet configurations can be customized to match existing generator frames or newly designed power units.

Typical application scenarios include marine generator sets, mobile power units, high-performance industrial generators, and environments where weight control and corrosion resistance are critical considerations.

Manufacturing Capability and Quality Control

With manufacturing experience dating back to 2003, Weichuang operates standardized production bases covering more than 60,000 square meters. Advanced sheet metal radiator manufacturing equipment supports consistent dimensional accuracy, reliable brazing quality, and stable thermal performance.
